Disha Pandith & Mir Arsalan Mehraj Bring Home Gold at 4th World Sqay Championships
Srinagar, 10-Nov: In a proud moment for India and particularly for Jammu and Kashmir, athletes Disha Pandith and Mir Arsalan Mehraj have achieved a remarkable feat by winning gold medals at the prestigious 4th World Sqay Championships. The event, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 2nd to 7th November 2024, showcased their skill, dedication, and hard work on a global platform, making their home state and country proud.
Their exceptional performance did not go unnoticed. Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Sports Secretary, Ms. Sujata Chaturvedi (IAS), felicitated the champions, honoring them with tokens of appreciation for their significant contributions to the sport of Sqay and for representing India with such distinction.
On their return to Jammu and Kashmir, Disha and Arsalan received a warm welcome from the President of the Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association.
