Speaker Directs Marshals to Remove Disruptive Legislators
Srinagar, Nov 07 : In a heated session, BJP legislators attempted to storm the Well of the House shortly after it reconvened, leading the Speaker to order Marshals to escort them out. Amid loud protests, several BJP MLAs, including R S Panthania, were removed as they demanded the reversal of the special status resolution.
“This is not a fish market; this is the Legislative Assembly,” the Speaker asserted amid the commotion.
The session saw further verbal attacks from the Food Minister, Satish Sharma, who criticized BJP’s handling of Jammu’s economic struggles and youth unemployment. NC MLA Nazir Gurezi joined in, accusing BJP of neglecting Jammu’s progress. The protests intensified with BJP MLA Shagun Parihar climbing onto a table to make their stance heard, while treasury benches countered with slogans in favor of Jammu and Kashmir’s distinct voice and special status.
The session continued in a tense and chaotic atmosphere, reflecting the deeply divisive issues at stake.
