Food Safety Department Conducts Comprehensive Market Inspection in Kulgam

Kulgam, November 7, : In a determined effort to safeguard public health, the Food Safety Department of Kulgam, under the direction of District Officer Food Safety Syed Nait Hussain, conducted a thorough inspection across multiple shops in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The inspection took place on Thursday, focusing on ensuring that products available in the market meet safety and quality standards.
An official from the department informed CNS that the inspection team, led by Assistant Commissioner of Food (ACF) Inderjit Singh, along with other officials from the Food Safety Department in Kulgam, visited various shops to assess their compliance with food safety regulations. The team emphasized the importance of maintaining proper standards and issued directions where necessary.
During these inspections, five shops were identified as needing minor adjustments in labeling to meet regulatory standards. These adjustments, directed by higher authorities, aim to improve product identification and transparency for consumers.
District Officer Food Safety Syed Nait Hussain reinforced the department’s dedication to upholding market integrity. “People who believe they are buying substandard items can contact us. This is a collective effort to ensure that only quality products reach consumers. We will not let the market get away with anything wrong and will keep it free from dishonest people,” he stated.
