Militant Killed in Khanyar Encounter; Search Operations Continue
On November 2, 2024, security forces engaged in a gunfight with militants in Srinagar’s Khanyar area, resulting in the death of one unidentified militant. The encounter began when militants opened fire on a joint team of security personnel approaching a suspected hideout. During the exchange, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and two Special Operations Group (SOG) members sustained injuries and were promptly hospitalized; all are reported to be in stable condition.
