NOVEMBER 10: In a bid to uphold accountability within healthcare services, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, has suspended the Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Darhal. This decision followed a surprise inspection at the Sub-Division Hospital, Darhal, aimed at assessing winter readiness. The inspection revealed that all staff, except one doctor and a technician, were absent, sparking concerns over healthcare provision in the region as winter approaches.

To address this issue, the Deputy Commissioner attached the suspended BMO to the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri, who will also temporarily oversee the BMO’s responsibilities to ensure seamless healthcare services. Additionally, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer to investigate the incident. He is tasked with submitting a detailed report within three days.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment to efficient service delivery during the critical winter season and warned that any negligence affecting public welfare would result in strict consequences.
