Economic Challenges Begin to Hover After Snowfall Shortage in Sonamarg :

The scarcity of snowfall in Sonamarg this winter has left the local community grappling with economic challenges, raising concerns about the impact on the region’s vital tourism sector.

CEO of the Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA), Dr Ilyas Ahmad said that concerted efforts would be made to boost the tourism sector in the area. He acknowledged the natural phenomenon of decreased snowfall this year and said there is a need for adaptive strategies to mitigate its economic consequences.

“We understand the concerns of the locals, and we are committed to doing our best to promote the tourism sector in Sonamarg,” Dr Ahmad said.
