District Police Ganderbal Cracks Down on Drug Peddling, Seizes Contraband Substance
Ganderbal, 30th November 2024:
In a sustained effort to combat the drug menace and ensure a drug-free society, District Police Ganderbal has apprehended a drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of contraband substances in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gund.
Acting on reliable information, Police Station Gund registered Case FIR No. 53/2024 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, involving an accused, Shameem Ahmad Khatana S/O Late Ab Gani Khatana R/O Baktoori Mohalla, Gund, who had reportedly concealed contraband substances at his residence.
A special police team, under the supervision of an Executive Magistrate 1st Class and accompanied by independent witnesses, raided the residential premises of the accused. During the search, 08 kilograms of Bhang Patri were recovered and seized. The accused was immediately arrested, and further investigation into the case is underway.
