DIG SKR Inaugurates Police Martyrs Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament and Enhances Facilities for Police Personnel in Anantnag
November 27, Anantnag – The Anantnag Police, in a heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of police martyrs, organized the Police Martyrs Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament at Hamayun Muzammil Government Degree College, Khanabal. The tournament was inaugurated by DIG South Kashmir Range (SKR), Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, in the presence of senior police officers and other dignitaries.
The tournament features four teams and is aimed at fostering unity, sportsmanship, and remembrance of the brave individuals who gave their lives in service to the nation. Speaking at the event, DIG SKR Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo lauded the initiative as a meaningful way to honor police martyrs while promoting youth engagement and the spirit of healthy competition. He encouraged participants to exhibit talent and teamwork, emphasizing the unifying role of sports in community development.
In addition to the cricket tournament, DIG SKR also inaugurated a Dry Canteen and the newly constructed MT Section Building at District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag. These facilities are designed to enhance the welfare, efficiency, and working conditions of police personnel, ensuring better comfort and operational readiness.
The event was graced by senior officers, including SSP Anantnag Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, SP HQRS Anantnag Shri Sajad Ahmad, SP OPS Anantnag Shri Furqan Qadir, ASP Anantnag Shri Ghulam Hassan, and other district police officials. Their presence underscored the collective commitment of the department to community engagement and the well-being of its personnel.
