Authorities Seal 8 Clinical Laboratories in Srinagar For Regulatory Violations
Srinagar, Nov 22: In a decisive action to uphold healthcare standards, authorities in Srinagar sealed eight clinical laboratories in the Bemina area on Friday. The operation was carried out by a team comprising officials from the District Registering Authority, District Health Officer, and Drug Department, as part of a routine inspection.
The inspection uncovered significant violations, including non-compliance with the Clinical Establishments Registration and Regulation (CERR) Act and the absence of proper registrations. The sealed establishments include:
- Crestcare Laboratory opposite SKIMS JVC Bemina.
- Jhelum Valley Chemists and Druggists, operating an in-house SRL Laboratory.
- Kids Health Clinic, a consultation chamber near JVC Bemina.
- City Clinical Laboratory, located in Shah Colony opposite JVC Hospital.
- Peace Diagnostic Center, in JVC Bemina.
- TCT Clinical Laboratory, in JVC Bemina.
- Sajad Medicate Chemists and Druggists, running an unregistered consultation chamber.
- Atulaya Healthcare Imaging and Laboratories, in JVC Bemina.
The inspection team also examined several medical shops for allegedly conducting illegal sample collections, signaling a wider effort to enforce healthcare compliance in the region.
