In a tragic incident on the National Highway in Lawaypora, Srinagar, two tourists from Bangalore were injured when their taxi collided with a truck. The injured, identified as Asma Sheikh and Shabir Ahmad, were immediately rushed to Noora Hospital for treatment.
According to hospital sources, Asma Sheikh is in critical condition, while Shabir Ahmad is reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police Investigation Underway
The local police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Preliminary reports suggest the collision occurred due to a lapse in vehicular control, though further details are awaited.
