Farooq Abdullah Calls for Deep Dive into Adani Group Allegations: Urges JPC Probe for Transparency
Srinagar, Nov 21 (QNS): National Conference leader Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday urged a full-scale investigation into the allegations surrounding the Adani Group, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability.
Addressing media in Srinagar, Dr. Abdullah called on the central government to heed demands for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe, underscoring the importance of a detailed inquiry to reveal the facts. “The calls for a JPC inquiry are serious, and I hope the government will take them to heart. Only a comprehensive investigation can clarify what occurred and why,” he stated, according to QNS.
Without commenting on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks, Dr. Abdullah acknowledged the growing international scrutiny of the alleged economic irregularities. “If the accusations hold, it’s deeply concerning. Transparency is key in such issues,” he noted.
Dr. Abdullah also pointed to allegations involving officials in Jammu and Kashmir from 2021-2022, advocating for a regional probe. “Our government in Jammu and Kashmir should also launch an investigation. Slowly, the truth will surface, and we must expose any irregularities,” he added. (QNS)
