Major Drug Bust in Srinagar: Narcotics Worth Crores Seized, Two Arrested

Srinagar, November 13 : In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, Srinagar Police have seized narcotic substances valued in crores and arrested two individuals involved in the illegal trade.
On November 12, during a naka checking operation at Tengpora flood channel in Batamaloo, a police team detained two suspects identified as Love Kumar from Shahdara Kastura Nagar, Delhi, and Vipin Kumar from Sultanpuri, Delhi. A search of their belongings led to the recovery of 2.4 kg of a heroin-like substance.
Subsequently, an FIR No. 140/2024 was registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Batmaloo, and a detailed investigation was launched. During the inquiry, the accused disclosed information that resulted in the further recovery of 2.86 kg of crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as Crystal Meth) from their vehicle, an Ertiga bearing registration number HR11N 7336.
This major seizure highlights the dedication of Srinagar Police in combating the menace of drugs in society. Investigations are ongoing to trace the origins and operational network behind this illegal narcotics trade.
