“J&K Police Ganderbal Seizes Illegally Transported Forest Produce, Arrests 2 Smugglers”

Ganderbal, 10th November 2024 – Demonstrating a commitment to protecting natural resources, District Police Ganderbal apprehended two smugglers and seized illegally transported forest produce, Kuth, in the jurisdiction of PS Gund. Under the leadership of SHO Shri Lateef Ahmad and supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Mohammad Ashraf-JKPS, police confiscated 16 gunny bags of Kuth, being illegally transported in vehicle JK18C 6566, driven by Bashir Ahmad Raina and Fareed Ahmad Akhoon.
A case under FIR No. 48/2024 has been registered under the Forest Act, and both individuals are in police custody, with further investigation underway. This action underscores J&K Police’s commitment to environmental preservation, urging community members to report any illegal activities involving natural resources.
