Gulmarg Terror Attack: J&K LG Pays Tribute to Slain Army Soldiers and Porters
Srinagar, Oct 25 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid floral tributes on Friday to the soldiers and porters who lost their lives in a terror attack in Gulmarg on October 24, 2024.
Sinha visited the Chinar Corps headquarters in Srinagar to honor the fallen soldiers and porters. “Paid homage to the brave soldiers and Defence Porters who made the supreme sacrifice in the service to the nation in Butapathri Sector,” Sinha posted on X. He expressed that their selfless service and ultimate sacrifice would never be forgotten and extended solidarity to the grieving families.
The terror attack took place on Thursday when militants opened fire on an Army vehicle en route to the Nagin post in the Affarwat range, six kilometers from Gulmarg. The ambush claimed the lives of two soldiers, Riflemen Kaisar Ahmad Shah and Jeevan Singh, as well as two porters, Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary and Zahoor Ahmad Mir, both from Boniyar, Uri.
