CBI Arrests Revenue Official in Bribery Case.
Srinagar, Oct 25 (KNO): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a revenue official in Kathua district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. According to a statement provided to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the official, identified as a Patwari, was caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting the bribe, which he reportedly demanded for attesting a mutation related to a land purchase.
Following the arrest, the Patwari was presented before a court on Thursday, where he was remanded to judicial custody for 12 days. The CBI also conducted searches at the accused’s residence as part of the ongoing investigation.
