CM Omar Abdullah Visits Family of Slain Doctor Shahnawaz After Sonamarg Terror Attack

Srinagar, Oct 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the family of Dr. Shahnawaz, one of the seven victims of a terrorist attack in the Gagangir area of Sonamarg, Ganderbal district, on Sunday night. Along with senior officials, Abdullah traveled to Naidgam village in Budgam, the native village of the slain doctor, to offer his condolences to the grieving family.
The attack also claimed the lives of designer Sushant Abrol and six laborers, who were returning to their camp in Gund when terrorists attacked a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway. Five others injured in the attack are receiving treatment at SKIMS hospital in Srinagar.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the attack, assuring that the security forces have been given full authority to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
