Woman allegedly dies of medical negligence in GMC Anantnag :
A woman from the Batengoo Anantnag identified as Lateefa Arshad, aged 37 & a mother of 3 has died due to medical negligence. She was taken to the GMC Anantnag at 5:30 P.M as she required immediate medical attention, however, no doctors were available at the hospital,” claimed the family member.
He said that the attendants of Lateefa were being shuffled between different medical wards while her condition kept worsening. “People at the hospital told us that the doctors do not have time,” the family member alleged.
In a callous display of medical negligence, the family, claimed, that they waited for 2 hours at the hospital, despite which no medical assistance was provided to Lateefa.
The family has urged the authorities to take action against such “intolerable behaviour of the medical staff”, which cost them a loss of life.
Officials at the Government Medical College have launched an investigation into the incident. “An enquiry has been launched into the incident. A committe has been formed to investigate the matter and the family has been called to seek their inputs as well regarding the incident,” Dr. Anjum Farhana, the principal said.
