36 licenses, RCs Cancelled in Srinagar :
In a bid to act tough against the overloading in passenger vehicles and other violations, the authorities on Thursday cancelled 36 licenses as well as the vehicle registration certificates of those who were found violating the rules in Srinagar.
Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, while addressing the media persons at his office chamber here, called upon all the stakeholders including civil society members and religious clerics to educate the people on the overloading issue and traffic awareness to prevent any major accidents.
RTO, Kashmir said that keeping in view yesterday’s accident in Baramulla’s Uri area, where several people died, there is a need to educate people about road safety awareness and about overloading too.
