Sadiq & Bashir Arrested In Kulgam
Srinagar 16 Jan : Two drug peddlers, carrying seven kilograms of grinded cannabis powder-like contraband substances with them, were arrested in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said on Tuesday.
They said, as per the news agency, that a team of police while patrolling at Kulgam bypass near Chatabal bridge intercepted two suspicious persons, who tried to flee from the spot after noticing the police.
“They were chased and apprehended tactfully. After searching, officers present were able to recover seven kilograms of grinded Cannabis powder-like contraband substance, filled in bags, from their possession,” police said.
The accused persons have been identified as Mohammad Sadiq Waza son of Ghulam Muhammad Waza, a resident of Ziyaratgali Kulgam and Bashir Ahmad Sheikh son of Gull Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Chawalgam Kulgam.
Meanwhile, a case with FIR No. 09/2024 under section 8/20, 29 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused persons at Police Station Kulgam, with further investigation taken up, police said. (CNS)
